Whale Rider is here and she is protecting our Oceans with Love and Grace!! This is an Original Edition, handpulled Art Print using the Paper Lithography method of printmaking. A versatile and contemporary print technique, Paper Litho has unlimited creative potential, which Rhonda has been researching for over 4 years. She has studied and carefully perfected this method in order to produce high quality edition prints that are not just beautifully expressive images, but they possess the consistency required for edition printing and they're tonally rich and greatly expressive.
 
Whale Rider is a hand-drawn graphite image that was professionally photographed to allow Rhonda to prepare a high res laser-printed template that would help her create these edition quality, hand-pulled lithograph prints. The plate is prepared using traditional lithography techniques, and inked using the best quality French-produced inks, the Charbonnel etching inks, in a unique mix of Ocean Blue and White. The unique blue Rhonda created for this edition reflects the bright, soft and yet deep steel blue of the humpback whale's skin, the cool, blue skies of the icy cold waters of the North Atlantic and Antartica, and the fresh, bright blues of the warm waters young calves are birthed in after a very long  whale migration to Australia and North America. In the summer coastal waters of Rhonda's homeland, Newfoundalnd Canada the whales arrive, having migrated across several Oceans to find an abundant food source and birth their young. 
 
Whale Rider is an exciting and whimisical expression of Rhonda's love for our Oceans, Whales and all of Nature. She was inspired to create Her as a way to increase human awareness about the beauty, the need to protect and clean up our Oceans and all natural water sources. Rivers are birthed by Oceans and they all return to them in a well organized and nourishing way that ensure the Earth and it's animals and plants all receive an abundance of clean and mineral rich water to drink. When humans interfere in any way, it creates an unnatural balance and creates floods and droughts. There are better ways to live in harmony with water, the Oceans and we have the capability to do so now more than ever throughout our history. It's critical to educate ourselves and future generations about the nature of water, where it come from and how we can protect and support it's living and life giving properties.
 
We are Nature and we must protect our Nature to ensure all creatures live in harmony with the planet. She protects our sacred waters where all life was birthed. The Whale Rider is here to stop the pollution of our Oceans and bring back our deep connection to them, as givers of all life on Earth.
